Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t you have resellers in other cities ?
Resellers would only carry a small part of our range and would have very limited knowledge. We believe we can provide a much better service by dealing directly with our clients and we have clients all over Australia and overseas.

Where I can see your fans ?
We sell many brands and you will probably see the most popular models in local shops. As we are a specialist store, we have a much greater range than probably any other store in the country and therefore you will only find some fans in our store or web site.  We believe you will find a trip to our showroom or web site very worthwhile.

Why can’t we buy online from you ?
In general, we believe we can provide a better service if we have a chance of talking to our clients and ensuring that the goods they order are compatible and all necessary accessories are included. We are open to new ideas and are investigating providing online shopping facilities in the future.

Why don’t you have prices on your web site ?
We want to give you accurate information. A ceiling fan may have a price of  $100 and you may pay that, but you may also find it actually costs you $200 as you have had to add an extension rod, T-hook and a light. In regards to exhaust fans, you can often use them as they are or you may need to add a vent and flexible ducting, thus increasing the price.

What price can I expect to pay for a ceiling fan ?
Most ceiling fans are in the $100-$250 price range and you will find a large variety of models and styles in this range. Please remember accessories such as extension rods, remote controls, lights and the like can also affect the price of a fan.

We also have some ceiling fans models for less than $100 and, as a specialist store, we also have fan models at a higher price range than indicated above, reflecting some special design, features or brands at the higher end of the market.
A few unique designs, like some of the usa fan models, will be considerably more and can run into the thousands of dollars.

Please contact us for advice and pricing, as well as freight costs to all inter-estate and overseas destinations.

I need a ceiling fan with a remote control
Most (if not all) ceiling fans can have a remote control as an option.

I need a ceiling fan with a light
Nearly all of the ceiling fan models can have a light as an option. Many ceiling fans are light adaptable, meaning you can add a light of your choice. See our section on ceiling fans lights.  Some fans have an integrated light option. This means only the manufacturer’s light will fit it and whilst they look very integrated, the choice can be limited.

Exhaust Fans General Information
(with thanks to Fanco Australia for allowing us to include this material)

Why do I need an exhaust fan ?
Apart from local building regulations, it is important to ventilate well wet areas so as to avoid future humidity damage to walls and ceiling. Ventilation is also important in toilets to dissipate odurs produced.

Will any fan do ?
An exhaust fan needs to be sized according to the room size. This is quite logical as the fan moves air and the larger the room, the more air the fan needs to move. All exhaust fans should clearly display their air movement capacity to allow designers and consumers to make an informed decision on its suitability.

What capacity should the exhaust fan be ?
Generally 10 air changes per hour should suit most bathrooms, toliets and laundries. Work out the air volume in the room (height x width x length), then multiply by 10 and that will give you the capacity required of the fan.

Will the exhaust fan stop the mirror misting ?
Probably not ! The exhaust fan takes excess moisture out (but not all) and it is a good idea to let it run for a while after finishing a shower to clear the moisture. A strong fan can create a cold draught and take most of the warm air out of the bathroom, creating an unpleasant environment.
